Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week, she will post a new Top Ten list topic for everyone to weigh-in on. Books On My Winter 2020-2021 TBR (or summer if you live in the southern hemisphere)
I live in the Northern hemisphere, so winter is (almost) here. I mean, the weather is wintery, but it doesn’t officially start until December 21st. It runs through March, so this TBR is going to be very loose. I’m not good at planning out TBRs — I almost never stick to them. But it’s fun to try and plan it out based on my full TBR cart and my growing list of eBook and audiobook holds on Libby. So, let’s dive in! Note that these are all books that have been published because I haven’t even begun looking at 2021 releases yet…
10 Books on My Winter TBR
December
1. Blue Lily, Lily Blue | audiobook

I’m currently reading book 2 in The Raven Cycle. I’m not sure if I’ll have enough time to finish it before the end of the year, but it’s definitely up next audiobook-wise. I’m really enjoying this series!
2. LIFEL1K3 | eBook

I’ve kind of been on a Jay Kristoff kick since last year. I’m trying to read through all of his books. LIFEL1K3 was on sale for Kindle earlier this year, so I bought it. I definitely want to read it soon.

3. A Room of One’s Own

I think I’d like to start the new year off with some Virginia Woolf. This is a classic I’ve been dying to read for years, and I think it’ll be a nice way to kick off 2021.
4. Wicked Saints | eBook

Another Kindle sale book! This one I don’t know much about. I only heard about it initially because one of my co-workers was friends with the author’s mom, which I thought was cool so I just randomly added it to my TBR. And here we are.
February
5. Mind the Gap, Dash & Lily | eBook

Ugh. So I don’t actually want to keep reading this series, because I have a feeling it’s just going to keep getting worse and worse, and I was really happy with the ending of book 1, but whatever. If they continue adapting the books for Netflix, I guess I need to keep reading them.
6. The Handmaid’s Tale

If I’m ever going to be able to watch this freaking series, I must read the novel first. This has been on my TBR long before the show was made, it’s just encouraging me to finally read it.
7. The Handmaid’s Tale (The Graphic Novel)

March
8. All This Time| eBook

If it’s anything like Five Feet Apart, I’ll enjoy it. Plus, what a gorgeous cover!
9. Serpent and Dove | audiobook

Listen I keep telling you guys that I’m addicted to enemies-to-lovers stories, and I think this is another one. It’s also YA fantasy, the perfect genre for this trope, so here I go again…
10. Moby Dick

LISTEN. I’ve been on page 120 for years now. I started it back in college, and I really was loving it, but then things got busy and it was taking too long to read (I had an insatiable desire to read a hundred books each year, no exception), so it got pushed to the back of the shelf. But in 2021, I’m focusing on longer books, classics, and books that have been on my TBR for a while. I still want to read new releases (trust me, there are plenty to look forward to!), but I want my main focus to be on these types of books. I’m not sure if I’ll make a goal to read 10 pages a day, or a chapter per day, or if I’ll just make it my main read and focus solely on finishing it, but 2021 is the year of Moby Dick, I’m telling you.
So there you have it, there’s my loose TBR for the rest of this year and into next. What’s on your TBR? Tell me in the comments, or link your own post for me to check out!
A Room of One’s Own was a great read. Hope you like it.

AhhH! I’ve been going back and forth on reading it for a while now, but recently I’ve really gotten back into YA fantasy so it’s officially been added to my TBR. Hoping to get to it soon! 🙂

Good on you for getting back to Moby Dick. It’s one of those novels that I’m actively avoiding.

I honestly don’t think it’s so bad! I thought it was humorous and interesting when I was reading it. Just need to get back into it. I think the length is daunting, but imagine the feeling of *finishing it.*

The Handmaid’s Tale is amazing. I loved every bit of it. I have been a bit reluctant to watch the show – afraid it won’t live up to the book. I also don’t understand why there seem to be so many episodes for the show. It seems like they have added a lot more to the book, which I am not that thrilled about.

I can’t wait to read it! But yes, I have a feeling they added a lot. I think S2 is entirely made-up after the book ends. It’s hard when adaptations don’t live up to our expectations.
