Hundreds & Thousands of Books‘ Questions

If you had to ditch one genre for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?

Probably nonfiction. I almost never read nonfiction books because it rarely interests me, and when I do read one, it takes me a long time to get through it. I do have some nonfiction faves (The Anthropocene Reviewed, On Writing, The Opposite of Loneliness), but I wouldn’t be heartbroken if I couldn’t read that genre ever agian.

When do you write your blog posts? Are you a night owl or an early bird? (I’m really interested what other bloggers do!)

Typically during the daytime, whether that be on my lunch breaks at work or midday on the weekend. In the morning my brain isn’t ready to write out my thoughts, and by nighttime I’m more interested in video games, reading, or watching TV. So midday is best for me personally.

What’s your most anticipated book of 2022?

The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik. Though the first book was a bit rocky, the second book had me hooked. Not only do I love finishing series in general, but I’m excited to see how this one ends.

Do you have any New Years Resolutions? Are you sticking to them?

I didn’t actually make any New Years resolutions this year, though I do have a few reading goals revolving around buddy reading with my friend Heather! Right now we’re making our way through a re-read of the Percy Jackson series. Later in the year we might try reading the ACOTAR series. And eventually we’re going to read EOTV together, though it’s quite the behemoth so we’ll see if that happens this year or if it runs into next year.

What’s the last book you DNF?

The Secret History by Donna Tartt. It’s sooooooo slowwwwww to get into. I also hated the audiobook, which is read by the author and you would think that would make it even better but it really doesn’t. I may try again with the physical book, though.

Questions for My Nominees

  • What is your favorite book you read that was published last year?
  • What series that ended do you wish was still ongoing?
  • Do you listen to audiobooks? If so, when do you listen to them? If no, why not?
  • If you could see any book adapted for film or television, which book would you choose?
  • What is a book on your wishlist that you desperately want in your hands ASAP?
