To Kill Them Off or to Not Kill Them Off?

July 8, 2017Categories Saturday Sentiments5 Comments on To Kill Them Off or to Not Kill Them Off?

This week I'm here to talk about killing off characters in some of your favorite novels. I know, I know. Touchy subject. But I was catching up on everybody's favorite HBO series--Game of Thrones season 6--and also finishing up the ... Continue reading

“Without a filter, a man is just chaos walking.” // Imagine being able to hear everyone’s thoughts 24/7. And everyone being able to hear yours. Literally my worst nightmare. This book is a wild ride from start to finish, full of action and tense moments and a heartbreaking scene that made me S O B. Can’t wait to read the rest of this series. . . . #books #literature #reading #bookblogger #bookpics #bookstagram #instabook #bookworm #booknerd #bookphotography #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookish #bookishlife #igbooks #bookphotos #bookreviews #bookrecs #patrickness #knifeofneverlettinggo #chaoswalking #YA #yalit #youngadult #adventure #action #series
Do you ever feel guilty for DNFing a book? 😕 // I used to 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 DNF a book. But this year I realized that was a silly rule and wound up reading more books in 2019 than I read in the previous 5 years! The only time I feel guilty for DNFing anymore is if the book was a gift. Last year, my girlfriend bought me a few books for Christmas that I'd never heard of, and today I gave up on one of them ☹️ But other than that, DNFing has saved my reading life! . . . #books #literature #reading #bookblogger #bookpics #bookstagram #instabook #bookworm #booknerd #bookphotography #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookishlife #bookish #igbooks #bookphotos #dnf
"The sea is everything." // This is an adventure novel through and through. But it's also so much more than that. I didn't think I'd enjoy this nautical novel, but I found myself cherishing every minute of it. I've come to love the characters, the writing, and the story itself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jules Verne was ahead of his time and deserves to be read until the Earth and/or its inhabitants die. If you love classic sci-fi and a good old fashion adventure story, you'll feel right at home here under the seas. . . . #books #literature #reading #bookblogger #bookpics #bookstagram #instabook #bookworm #booknerd #bookphotography #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookishlife #bookish #igbooks #bookphotos #bookreviews #bookrecs #classics #scifi #sciencefiction #adventure #julesverne #20000leaguesunderthesea
As far as finales go, Stephanie Garber's "Finale" delivered exactly what I expected: a middle-of-the-road experience. Where the story lacked in worldbuilding and writing, it thrived in action and romance. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This trilogy was very *meh* for me. There were aspects I liked and just as many that I didn't. Though I have many varying opinions about the series, I will say I'm glad I saw it through to the end. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I may not be a Garber fan for life, but I do have a renewed interest in fantasy to re-explore... . . . #books #literature #reading #bookblogger #bookpics #bookstagram #instabook #bookworm #booknerd #bookphotography #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookishlife #bookish #igbooks #bookphotos #bookreviews #bookrecs #caraval #finale #bookseries #trilogy #ebooks
The worst part about loaning eBooks: they WILL expire and there's nothing you can do to stop it. // I have been SO busy lately, which is why it's been taking me so long to finish "Finale." Not only do I work full-time at my main job, but I also proofread for an online magazine in the evenings/on the weekend. And now, as of this weekend, I also have a night/weekend part-time job. You may be wondering how I'm going to fit reading and blogging into this crazy schedule of mine. Well--me too! But I'm determined. And warnings like "EXPIRES IN 3 HOURS" are great motivation. I read the remaining 55% with 20 mins to spare!! Review to come tomorrow. It may mean less sleep, less socializing, and less media time, but fitting books into my life will always be my biggest priority. Let's just see if I can accomplish that. 😪 . . . #books #literature #reading #bookblogger #bookstagram #instabook #bookworm #booknerd #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookishlife #bookish #igbooks #finale #caraval #odl #ohiodigitallibrary #overdrive #ebooks #kinde #personal
End-of-year reading slumps are too real 🤦‍♀️ // I'm currently reading 3 books and am practically nowhere in all of them. I cannot get myself to sit down and read! There's always something else—a movie, a video game, a TV show... I'm too distracted. I need to get it together! Anyone else in a slump? 😪 . . . #books #literature #reading #bookblogger #bookpics #bookstagram #instabook #bookworm #booknerd #bookphotography #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookishlife #bookish #igbooks #bookphotos #polaroid #plants #succulents #plantsandbooks #readingslump
